Come May 2018, European travel will get a whole lot cheaper. The Scandinavian airline Primera Air will be offering flights from the United States to Europe for as little as $99 round-trip.
Travelers will be able to book flights out of Boston Logan and Newark in the US into Birmingham and London Stansted in England, and Paris Charles de Gaulle in France. Flights out of Newark will run daily, while Boston will have flights four times a week.
If $99 for a round-trip flight to Europe sounds too good to be true, it might be — for some travelers at least.
The cheapest ticket option on Primera Air only allows passengers to bring one carry-on item weighing no more than 22 lbs. Upgrading to the Comfort fare ticket option includes a checked bag, carry-on item, priority seating, and an in-flight meal. Other options with more amenities and the option of refundable cancellations exist, but that will cost you extra. Still, all levels of Primera’s round-trip tickets are dramatically lower than most other airlines.
If you’re looking to plan a European getaway and have a knack for packing light, Primera Air might be your best bet in 2018.
