Divorce is a difficult process, especially when there are kids involved. Legal battles and family separation can be traumatic not only for adults, but for kids, that’s why it’s best for a former couple to be on good terms for the sake of the kids.
A man shared his experience on Facebook which has stirred a lot of admiration and is a great example for divorced people.
When his ex-wife asked him to buy medicine that their baby needed, he didn’t hesitate. The young father arrived at his ex-wife’s house and started putting the medicine in the refrigerator, when he saw something that broke his heart.
Seeing what was inside the fridge, the father went out to solve the problem. It turns out the fridge was totally empty, except for a bottle of water and baby food.
The man felt moved by what he saw, because although he’s separated from the mother of his daughter, he respects her a lot and tenderly holds onto the memories of their relationship. So he decided to go to the supermarket and buy her food.
Then, he decided to write a post on Facebook to share his experience and make several people who may be going through similar situations reflect:
“My ex wife works hard, her day is long and tough and she’s also an excellent mom, she’s always taken perfect care of our little girl. She takes care of her rent and her bills; electricity, water, phone, etc. Today she asked me to buy a medicine for our daughter and I happily did it right away. I also wanted to make sure they had enough food for the next couple of weeks and although we’re no longer together, that doesn’t mean I no longer care about her or that I can’t help her when she needs it. I know that if she’s okay, my daughter will be too and that makes me happy and relaxed. Worrying only about your children and not about who gave you the opportunity to be a parent in the first place, is to think and act immaturely. It’s time to reflect and mature, assume the responsibilities that belong to us”.
It’s definitely a lovely gesture. This girl is very lucky to have such a noble father.
