This mysterious home named Clingstone is not an ordinary house. The big residence is located on a small rock in the middle of Narragansett Bay near Providence, Rhode Island. It was created as early as 1905 by Joseph Lovering Wharton. It has its own name, but people called the building simply as “The House on the Rock”. They say this historic mansion continue to keep its own secrets. Someone says it even has a dungeon.
In 1961 Henry Wood, a Boston architect bought this house for $ 3,600. It had been abandoned for twenty years to that moment. All windows were smashed and its roof was open to the sky. The owners wanted $5,000, but it was too much because of its poor condition. Henry Wood spent years to revive this mansion. It was a very difficult task, but the result is worth his efforts. Now this magnificent house looks amazing!
