«My weight is debilitating. My body is so painful, I hate it. But I say this to myself. Food is an addiction to me and my addiction is killing me,» she said when commenting on her morbid obesity. «When I start my day, I can’t wait to start eating,» she added.

She lives with her parents, who prepare and cook anything and everything she wants. Every morning, her father prepares a milkshake and a plate of donuts for her and sends it upstairs via a stairlift device. «My mom or dad will make me a plate and send it up to me so I don’t have to go downstairs until breakfast,» she said.

But one day, Nikki decided to make a drastic change to her life. She underwent gastric sleeve surgery and followed a strict diet thereafter. After just 12 months, she had already lost more than 200lbs! This included over 56lbs of excess skin she had surgically removed.

And to celebrate, she went out and bought herself her very first pair of jeans!

Here’s a short video that touches on her life as a drastically obese woman:

Nikki’s life got back on track after being seriously threatened by obesity. On her weight loss journey, a good friend of hers asked her out to dinner — the first date she’d been on in years. Not only was her private life taking a turn for the better, she was now also able to help her parents by caring for her brother who suffers from cerebral palsy. The young woman has come a very long way — a superb victory for Nikki, who can finally enjoy her body, and simply feel good about herself. Well done Nikki, we wish you all the best!
