News outlets are currently reporting that professional golfer Tiger Woods has been arrested in Jupiter, Florida.
Woods, age 41, was stopped by police at 3 a.m. on Monday morning for driving under the influence.
He was released from Palm Beach County Jail at 10:50am, almost 8 hours after his arrest.
The blood-alcohol legal limit while driving in Florida is .08.
These are the possible penalties for Tiger Woods.
- Fine — $250 to $500.
- Community Service — 50 Hours.
- Probation — Not more than 1 Year.
- Imprisonment — Not more than 6 Months.
- Imprisonment with BAL of .08 or higher with a minor in the vehicle, not more than 9 months.
- License Revocation — Minimum of 180 days.
- DUI School — 12 Hours.
Many people will recall Woods’ altercation with his now ex-wife Elin Nordegren in 2009, she allegedly hit Woods’ car with a golf club after he crashed into a tree on their property. Woods was alleged to be under the influence at the time, but he was not charged with a DUI.
At the time, Woods was steadily solidifying his position as the best golfer in history, but the accident opened a can of worms the world wasn’t ready for.
As it turned out, the pro-golfer was a serial cheater on his wife Elin. Elin finding out is what sent her to chase after him with a golf club, but what she didn’t know was just how many women her husband was being unfaithful with.
It came out that Tiger Woods had over 120 affairs during his 5 year marriage, with one of the women claiming Woods paid her $10 million to keep quiet about the affair.

More information has been released on the arrest of Tiger Woods. According to law enforcement, Woods was pulled over after driving erratically. The officer who pulled him over said Woods smelled like alcohol and immediately became arrogant as the officer tried to question him.
The officer asked Tiger Woods to blow into a breathalyzer, but her refused. In Florida, this automatically results in an arrest and license suspension.
Tiger Woods’ people have been in contact with the police all morning asking if the arresting officer had a body cam, presumably to see if there were any mistakes made in procedure.
Tiger Woods had back surgery last month, but it’s unclear if these two events are related. The police have not revealed whether the DUI was for drugs, alcohol, or both.
