A couple found a tiny orphan kitten wandering around, trying to call out for help but because of his size and exhaustion, barely a sound came out.
Laura Macaluso spotted the kitten, later named Panda, all by himself. She searched for siblings and his mother but couldn’t find anyone but him. He couldn’t open his eyes from infection and was so weak from dehydration.
Laura figured she would bring Panda home and foster him until he was big enough to be adopted but once Laura’s boyfriend Vincent met Panda, he fell in love with him instantly! And said, according to Love Meow, “He’s not going anywhere.”
The little guy had ticks and fleas all over his tiny body! So, the couple gave him a much needed, and very gentle bath, then a bottle of kitten formula.
Miraculously, just one day later, Panda was able to stand up and walk all on his own!
“He is still small for his age but is growing every day. I suspect he was the runt due to his size,” Laura said.
Panda began to bond to his new humans. His favorite thing to do was crawl up onto Vincent’s neck and fall asleep right in the crook.
But then Panda and his parents had a scare! Laura said, “He suffered seizures and at one point was completely limp in my arms. Due to the efforts of my boyfriend and I (who gave him CPR) he recovered.” Thanks to this brave, loving couple, Panda is doing SO much better!
As time passed, Panda got stronger and stronger. His little personality got stronger too! Laura and Vincent decided to adopt a brother for him so he would always have someone to play with!
It’s been a year since the couple found baby Panda and he’s really come a long way! It’s amazing what love can do, isn’t it?
