Eccentricity, outrageousness and strong confidence are held high in the fashion industry. The selection committee outright told her, that she couldn’t handle the program. But, countless refusals from other universities only strengthened her resolve.

Her mother signed her on the sewing courses, and her talent exploded there. Her assignments were to make doll costumes, bit the girl knew she could make much more.

The girl made human sized models herself, and sew bright and colorful outfits and ponchos for them herself. It is how Isabella began to create clothes for people.

Isabella makes true works of art: her outfits are dazzling, colorful and reflect the culture and style of the ethnic Guatemalan costumes. “I give my respect to those women who made the culture and national identity of our people for centuries.”

Soon, Isabella’s talent was noticed by famous designers, and she had her life’s chance! She was only 19 when she was invited to the London fashion week. Isabella became a first designer with a Down syndrome on this event. Her motivation, bright and original outfits were a smashing success. In 2016, BBC has conducted her into a list of the most inspiring women of the year!

She is regularly invited to Miami, Chicago, Rome and even Paris! But Isabella does not seek fame and adoration of fashion podiums. Her primary goal is to create clothes for the other people with a Down syndrome. “We have different body proportions, — she says. Mom always needed to adjust my clothes she bought for me. I decided to make my clothes line, specifically for people with a Down syndrome”.

“My wish is to be recognized by my work, to inspire other people. I put my heart in soul in the clothes I make, so that people could look at it and see me — a girl who is not afraid to reach her goals”.

The girl was refused from every university, but she still managed to make her dream come true. Even though she achieved her fame and success, her primary goals are to selflessly inspire other people and making the world a better place.
