I’d like to introduce the world to my amazing pug named Violet! She’s a very loving canine companion who likes to snuggle just before falling asleep. Luckily, she found a caring man who loved snuggling as much as she did – whether or not it meant losing his own comfort, or sleeping in separate quarters from his wife.
Who could possibly deny this adorable pug what she loves the most?
When his daughter, McKenna was introduced to Violet, it was love at first sight! In fact, she grew such an attachment to her, that she adopted Violet into the family. However, as sweet as the little pug was, she only managed to win McKenna’s mother over at the beginning.
Luckily, Violet quickly gained the approval of my entire family! I mean, come on now, how can you not absolutely love one of the most sweetest dogs in the world?
“At first my father wasn’t fond of me bringing a dog home. However, once we’d had her in our house for about a week or so, good old dad warmed up to her as well,” McKenna said to her friend Dodo. “The funny thing is, how Violet grew a fondness for him that was stronger than any other member of the family. Once he’d seen the way she loved him, they became the best of friends.”
Because their special bond was increasing as time passed by, Violet ended up joining McKenna’s parent’s, faithfully sleeping with them almost every single night (otherwise she has difficulty falling asleep). The both actually enjoy having her in bed with them.
That is, until recently.
Last week, Violet had to get a basic surgical procedure. Even though it went smoothly, her recovery was another matter – the unfortunate pug had to patiently wait until she completely healed before being able to enjoy a nice warm bath again.
Since she wasn’t fresh and clean, McKenna’s mother refused to allow her to sleep with them.
Instead of arguing with mom, dad decided to join Violet on the floor, sleeping right there with her.
“It looked so cute, the two of them sleeping together.” So much so, that McKenna slipped into the room and snapped a picture. Explaining “I think it was a bit extreme on dad’s part, however, they just looked so adorable.
According to McKenna, “The way fell asleep at that very spot, I simply couldn’t resist.”
What did my Mom think about all of this?
“She thought it was so hilarious.” McKenna claimed.
I’m so grateful that Violet’s finally getting her stitches out, she can finally get a much needed bath and sleep with my parents just like she used to. (More than likely, McKenna’s father will continue sleeping on the floor until then.)
Admitting that she’s quite envious of their relationship, McKenna can’t help feeling this way about that special bond in which developed between her dad and Violet. Even though she really does enjoy watching the two of them together.
“It warms my heart that dad finally loves Violet the way he does, I’d much prefer it compared to the relationship they used to share.” Said McKenna. His life has changed for the better, since the two of them met.
