Off the coast of Los Angeles, California, two Jet Skiers were riding along the water when they thought they spotted a yellow balloon in the distance, bobbing in and out of the water. Little did they know, it was actually a trapped sea turtle, desperate for help.
Bryce Trevett and Angel Hernandez, upon seeing the balloon, decided to investigate further.
They rode over to where it was bobbing and made the startling discovery.
“Dude!” Angel yelled when he saw it.
In fact, the yellow balloon was coiled around a young loggerhead sea turtle, and the poor animal was trying to free itself while also staying afloat underwater.
Bryce didn’t waste a moment. He leapt right off his Jet Ski and dove into the water.

After a few moments, Bryce resurfaced, with the frantic sea turtle flailing in his arms.
The balloon was wrapped around his entire body.
After realizing how badly the animal was trapped, the two men quickly brought him aboard.
They removed all traces of the balloon from the turtle’s body, then Bryce jumped back into the water and set him free!
Bryce posted the video of the rescue on his YouTube channel, with a caption: “This is the second sea turtle we have encountered in the last couple months that has been tangled in trash. Throw away your balloons!!!”
