The zodiac sign you commonly associate yourself with is probably one of the common sun signs like Virgo, Aries, or Gemini, however that doesn’t give you the whole story. The Chinese zodiac signs don’t follow the same time periods as the more familiar zodiac signs, and instead go by year. There are still twelve symbols that represent the people who fall under them, but first you need to know which one you are.
There are some variations on the starting dates of the signs because they follow the Chinese New Year schedule, but for the most part you can find your sign by just checking your birth year.
