2 Kids Scream For Daddy Across Parking Lot, But Mom Is Stunned When A Cop Sneaks Up To Them

bez-imeni-1

In March 2017, Josh Buetow was leaving on his first deployment from Shelter Island on the USS Carl Vinson. His wife Brettany and two of their kids dropped him off to say goodbye.

Rileigh, 4, and Austin, 2, shouted goodbye across the water as Josh boarded the ship.

Brettany, who also has a 3-month-old son with Josh, hopes he will be home by summer 2017.

While little Rileigh and Austin screamed and waved to their father, an officer parked nearby in the lot could tell the kids were struggling to let their voices be heard. SDPD Officer James Weaver also noticed Brettany’s kids were around the same age as his own.

“As I was sitting there, I saw the family over here and the two little kids were by the rocks over here screaming to dad yelling bye, and I figured that he couldn’t hear them cause I could barely hear them from across the parking lot,” Officer Weaver told NBC7.

That’s when the officer — who had never met the Buetow family before, mind you — called Brettany’s kids over to his squad car.

The unexpected question he asked Rileigh and Austin was enough to make Brettany break down and cry, despite the fact she’d been trying her hardest to hold it together for her family.
