We’ve all seen impressive musicians take the stage on national talent shows before. However, none of the past acts compare to this stunningly modern version of classical music by Scala.
The four members of Scala shared their skill with the world for the very first time on Britain’s Got Talent. No one was expecting such an impressive noise to come from an electronic string quartet.
The moment the women stepped on the stage at Britain’s Got Talent, all of the judges were curious about their act. Several of them even seemed a little hesitant about the thought of an electric quartet.
However, all of their concerns were put to rest when the women began to play. The sweet electronic notes produced by their violins and cello filled the auditorium and left the judges with their mouths agape.
As soon as the women wrapped up their impressive routine, the harshest judge on the panel, Simon Cowell, told them that their act was absolutely incredible! They were stunned with his revelation!
The women of Scala were passed through to the next round with flying colors and went on to win over the hearts (and ears) of the British! Now, with the days of Britain’s Got Talent behind them, the women have changed their name to Escala and are pursuing musical opportunities wherever they can!
Following their stint on Britain’s Got Talent, the group signed a £1.5 million ($2,017,275) contract with Sony BMG. Music producers recognized their immeasurable talent and definitely wanted to push them further.
It’s clear people all over the globe fell in love with the women and want to hear more from them, too. What skills they’ve been blessed with!
In fact, two of the four Escala members, Chantal Leverton and Izzy Johnston, belonged to a five-piece classical group called Wild. They had a label and released an album in 2005.
The four members of Escala, including Victoria Lyon, Tasya Hodges, met that same year when they all were part of the string section on an arena tour with McFly. Fans definitely are grateful that they did meet.
Listen to their stunning audition on Britain’s Got Talent for yourself in the video below. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the women of Escala!
