It is hard to believe that Betty White, the legendary American actress, turned 95 this year. Betty has been on television from almost as long as television has been around, and the most surprising fact is she’s not going to stop her 75-year career! The comedienne is full of energy and even doesn’t mind doing ‘Golden Girls’ reboot. Many of you may wonder how this amazing woman manages to stay so beautiful and charming, so humorous and witty at her age. Luckily, Betty doesn’t keep her success a secret and is always happy to share her advice with people.
In an interview with Al Roker for TODAY, Betty White confessed that one thing that keeps her young is… men! She jokes she loves the opposite sex just like her men-obsessed characters, Sue Ann Nives and Rose Nylund. However, when she is serious, she says there was only one best man in the world – her late husband Allen Ludden. “When you’ve had the best, who needs the rest?” – that’s how Betty explained why she never married again.
She also says it is important to have a hobby when you get older and retire. She finds her source of energy in animals. “Everybody should have or cultivate a passion,” she says. “Don’t be afraid to get really hooked on something, because that will refurbish your energy.”
Here some other pieces of advice she shares:
• Strengthen your immune system
• Improve flexibility
• Train your memory
• Don’t get stressed
• Love yourself! Boost self-esteem
Betty thinks that having a good self-esteem is also essential for having a strong relationship. “I think that you don’t say the hurtful thing even if you’re irritated or upset, because that sticks around, or that just chips off a little of the other guy’s self-esteem,” she says.
What a wise woman! Thank you for your advice, Betty, and just for being who you are!
