Chester Bennington, the songwriter and lead singer of rock band Linkin Park, has passed away at the age of 41.
Authorities say Chester died after hanging himself on July 20, 2017. He was found in his private residence in Palos Verdes Estates, California, around 9 a.m., according to TMZ.
Chester was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 20, 1976.
He always had a passion for music and started off his career in bands with friends. As things blew up for him, he moved on to bigger and better opportunities.
Eventually, he joined his most famous band, Linkin Park, as a songwriter and lead vocalist in 1999. The group released its first album, Hybrid Theory, on October 24, 2000. It was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005.
Chester battled personal demons throughout his life. He struggled with drugs and alcohol over the years, causing him to face some of his darkest days. Despite his troubles, he always found a way to reach his fans through his music.
Chester is survived by his six beloved children from his two marriages.
His greatest feats and accomplishments will certainly not be forgotten by all. May he rest in peace.
