Kim and Terry Bollman were excited to be a part of Detroit’s real estate comeback. The couple, who were living in Hawaii at the time, bought a nice big brick house on the west side of the city without even seeing it in person!
They knew they were taking a huge chance on the home; at one point it’d been deemed a safety hazard because of the pool area. Still, they couldn’t wait to throw poolside parties for their friends and family members.
A few weeks after making their big purchase, Kim and Terry spoke with a contractor about securing the pool and making sure it was up to code. But that’s when they learned what had taken place without their knowledge.
The large swimming pool in the backyard had been destroyed and filled with concrete — without warning and without their permission.
Not only that, but the couple claimed the contractor left additional damage to their garage, fence and sidewalk, and just left a general mess behind.
Kim and Terry were absolutely outraged and decided to put up a fight. They shared their story with the media, demanding answers and results.
Watch the video below to see what Kim and Terry saw when they looked out back from their brand new dream home.
What you don’t see in the clip below is what happened when their story made its way to the Mayor. The city made the necessary repairs to the Bollman’s new home and began restoring the pool… you know, so it could actually be used.
