Did you know there are cows that look like real life teddy bears?

Adam and Emily make sure their herd of cute Scottish highland cattle are well looked after by letting them roam free – and giving them lots of cuddles.

The farming couple from western North Carolina is making quite a name for themselves thanks to the pictures they share online of themselves hugging their fur babies.

Adam and Emily decided to breed their own cows after discovering how they were treated in the dairy and meat industry. They no longer wanted to eat factory-farmed meat without knowing where it was from.

*Baby James update* He is still in surgery. The plan was to just cut away the navel abcess and suture him back up. When the vet started cutting away the dead and infected tissue he discovered it goes all the way to his liver, which is also has an abcess. He said there's just a slim chance for survival. He is afraid the infection will spread though his blood stream and eventually kill him. He said either we could put him down or he could suture him up with the abcess on the outside of his body, with the hopes that it will drain and heal. We are going to try that and hope and pray it works. The vet thinks it's unlikely he will survive this but he has survived so much already maybe he can pull through this too. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: #scottishhighland #cow #dailycute #babyanimals #babyanimalsofinstagram #furbaby #animallover #dailyfluff #cutenessoverload #animalsofinstagram #asheville #ashevillenc #northcarolina #nc #Scottish #highlandcow #farmlife #farmer #farmanimals #buzzfeedanimals #appalachianmountains #blueridgemountains #blueridgeparkway #blueridge #appalachian

They started their own farm, Happy Hens and Highlands Farm, in 2014 and have a herd of Scottish highland cattle and Scottish highland crosses. “We want to make sure that our animals are humanely raised and have the best life possible,” they write on their website.

At first their farm was small and they raised animals for meat and eggs. But when they introduced highland cattle to the farm, everything changed. The couple decided they were simply too sweet and wise to eat.

Baby James wanted to let you know most items on our website are 20% to 25% off until labor day! (link in bio.) All merch sales go to buy food, pay vet bills, build fencing and shelters for the animals ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: #scottishhighland #cow #dailycute #babyanimals #babyanimalsofinstagram #furbaby #animallover #dailyfluff #cutenessoverload #animalsofinstagram #asheville #ashevillenc #northcarolina #nc #Scottish #highlandcow #farmlife #farmer #farmanimals #buzzfeedanimals #appalachianmountains #blueridgemountains #blueridgeparkway #blueridge #appalachian #thedodo

Adam and Emily decided to raise the cows without slaughtering them. Instead, they sell their calves to new homes for breeding. And they always make sure they get on well with their new owners.

They have so much respect for their animals and they treat them accordingly. They never take them for granted.

If you have Facebook check out our page. Some of you have asked why the problem wasn't caught sooner and why it took so long to do surgery. Other people haven't heard his whole story so I tried to put all the info in one long facebook post (it was too long for Instagram). ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: #scottishhighland #cow #dailycute #babyanimals #babyanimalsofinstagram #furbaby #animallover #dailyfluff #cutenessoverload #animalsofinstagram #asheville #ashevillenc #northcarolina #nc #Scottish #highlandcow #farmlife #farmer #farmanimals #buzzfeedanimals #appalachianmountains #blueridgemountains #blueridgeparkway #blueridge #appalachian #thedodo
