Donnie Wahlberg sat down for a meal inside a Charlotte, North Carolina, Waffle House following a long day of filming his TV show, Blue Bloods.
Then, what went on during his meal prompted him to do something very special for the waitress serving him that evening.
When the New Kids On The Block singer got settled into his Waffle House booth, he quickly learned that the staff at this particular location was something to be treasured. Donnie recorded a live Facebook video during his meal and captured all of the fun shenanigans for fans and other viewers.
In the end, he met some new friends, enjoyed a delicious meal, and rewarded his waitress with an incredible surprise nobody saw coming. He even posted a picture on the internet to explain why he did what he did.

According to a video Donnie filmed, he had just finished a long day of filming Blue Bloods and he was also preparing for a concert. He needed to fill his stomach with a good meal.
He headed over to a Waffle House to eat, where his simple meal turned into something much more inspiring.
When Donnie encountered the staff waiting on him, he was amazed. Fortunately, the actor had a lot to say about his experience at this Charlotte, North Carolina, Waffle House.
As he was waiting for his meal, he goofed around with the friendly staff and got to know them. He filmed as he waited for his food, and everyone sang along to the music in the background.
In a Facebook post, Donnie explains, “My mom waited tables, and my dad tended bars, for years! So, when I walk into a Waffle House, and the staff treats me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens! Thanks to the team at Waffle House in Charlotte.”
Then he included a picture of this in his post.
Due to the staff’s kindness and his parents’ own experiences in the service industry, Donnie left his waitress a hefty tip. He gave her $2,000 in addition to his payment of the $82.60 bill.
Not only did he leave a massive tip, but he also surprised some employees with New Kids On The Block tickets!
In the end, Donnie’s generosity and connection to the staff proves just how kind his heart is.
