Separations are hard. The more time we spend with someone, the harder it gets to let go. However, things get even more complicated when it stops being just the two of you.
Almost all of us hope that once that ring is on the finger, it will be happily ever after and we try hard to make that happen. Yet, it does not always work that way and sometimes it’s much better to stop chasing the happy end even if that means going separate ways.
Divorces are difficult and they often turn into arguments, hatred and neglect. However, when children are involved, no matter how hurt we feel, it’s important to let them know that just because mommy and daddy cannot be together, it doesn’t mean the kids are not loved and won’t be cared for.
In order to raise healthy children, Billy Flynn decided to not hold any grudges against his wife and show his children that not much has changed since their mom and dad separated. This can be hard and not everyone can make it happen, but there is a lesson to be learned from Billy’s example.

“It’s my ex-wife’s birthday today so I got up early and brought flowers and cards and a gift over for the kids to give her and helped them make her breakfast. Per usual someone asked me why the hell I still do things for her all the time. This annoys me. So ima break it down for you all.
I’m raising two little men. The example I set for how I treat their mom is going to significantly shape how they see and treat women and affect their perception of relationships. I think even more so in my case because we are divorced. So if you aren’t modeling good relationship behavior for your kids, get your shit together. Rise above it and be an example. This is bigger than you.
Raise good men. Raise strong women. Please. The world needs them, now more than ever.”
