One day a farmer from Orkney, Scotland was walking around the place where he lived. When he decided to pull back a huge rock, he didn’t think that he was on the threshold of great discoveries.
But the man found a 5000-year-old treasure. It was a surprise to all.
This giant stone was hiding an entrance to another world. It was a lost, ancient city, which became one of the oldest settlements in Great Britain. Experts say that this village, called Skara Brae, began 5000 years ago. It is even older than the pyramids in Egypt.
The buildings were well preserved, so historians could reconstruct the life of the city. The houses were big enough to accommodate 50 –100 people each.
This strange thing was founded in Skara Brae and nobody knows what it is.
It is mind-blowing.
