Seventy-five-year-old Gerry Suttle of Riesel, Texas, owns a large piece of property. But when the grass on this property to grew higher than the 18 inches that the town by-laws allow, she was sent a summons to appear in court. However, Gerry claims that she never received the summons, and when she failed to appear in court, a warrant was issued for her arrest!
The young Reynolds brothers, also from Riesel, found out about the situation while watching the local news and knew they had to do something. «We haven’t met her before, but I mean, like I said, she’s 75 years old and she needs some help out here mowing. I mean, it’s the least we could do,» explained Blaine Reynolds. And it was no sooner said than done. Armed with a few lawn mowers, the brothers headed over to the property and got to work. After two hours of sweaty work under the blazing Texas sun, Gerry’s yard was trimmed back into shape.
When Gerry saw what the Reynolds brothers had done for her, she was speechless. Tears of joy poured from her eyes as she hugged her young saviors. Eventually, Gerry was able to find some words to describe her admiration for the boys and their selfless act, «For them to be that young and to want to help somebody is just absolutely wonderful.»
