One man suddenly felt that his wife became too cold and unloving. He decided to find out how she would react if he left her.
He chose to write her a letter telling he was tired of her and no longer wanted to live together. The man knew it was rather childish, but he needed to know her true feelings.
Having written the letter, he put it on the bedside table and then hid under the bed waiting for his wife to come home. He hoped she would be upset and expected to hear her crying and calling friends to complain.
When the wife eventually got home, she saw the letter and read it.
After a few moments of silence, she took a pen and started adding something to the letter. Then she got changed whistling happy tunes and singing and dancing. She sounded happy rather than frustrated and heartbroken.
The man was shocked, but things only got worse.
The wife took the phone and dialed a number. Her husband listened as she was talking to someone:
— Hey, hun. I’ve already changed and ready to meet. As for my fool, I’ve finally driven him crazy, and he left. How could I marry him? I wish we met earlier. See you soon, my dear!
She hung up and walked out of the room.
After some time, the husband heard she opened and closed the front door. His wife was gone. In tears and utterly upset he got out from under the bed and started to read what his wife left written in his letter.
He read through tears: “I can see your feet sticking out from under the bed. I’m off to buy bread.”
