It’s a syndrome that affected his face. He was born without some bones in his, had some tissue problems, and suffered from impaired hearing.
Just 30 hours after coming into this world, his biological mother and father turned him over to social services. They wanted nothing to do with their son.
While she was a good mother, he still suffered at school. The other boys would tease him about his appearance and send Jono home in tears.
His teenage years were rough because he was so lonely. Finally, at age 19, he had enough of being alone and decided to get a job at a bar. He knew that drunk people could be mean, but he was tired of hiding himself from the world.
This positive reaction helped him build his self-confidence. He finished his college degree in sports medicine and got a job at gym. It was there that he met his girlfriend Laura.
His attitude change made a world of difference in his life. His face looks the same, but his attitude towards it has changed and it’s led to a huge improvement in his life. He wants children to know that even though they may be different, staying positive will help them succeed in life.
If Jono can overcome his difficulties to have such a great life, so can children everywhere. We’re so happy that he overcome difficult odds to achieve so much!
