Jimmy and Billie Breland, the couple from Mississippi, spent 60 blissful years of love and marriage raising their children and grandchildren.
They got married in 1954 and enjoyed their happiness until Billie‘s health started declining during the 2015 holiday season. She finally passed away on January 13, 2015, at the age of 83. Her husband‘s heart was broken.
Billie worked as a public school teacher for many years and was known to leave notes and reminders for herself all around the house.
Two days after Billie’s passing, Jimmy noticed a piece of paper in her checkbook – that was a note, of course. However, this final handwritten note Billie wrote wasn’t for her… it was for Jimmy.
The second Jimmy realized it was a message for him, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
Jimmy had no idea when she wrote it, but it was clear she wanted Jimmy to find it.
The note was simple but powerful. It read:
Please don’t cry because I died! Smile because I lived! Know that I’m in a happy place!
Know that we will meet again!
I will see you there!
Billie‘s message gave her husband sense of comfort and peace he needed. Now, he knows for sure they’ll meet again in eternity.
