It was an amazing spectacle in a recent episode of The Voice when singer Dave Crosby managed to convince three of the four judges to press the red button and turn their chairs. The talented man performed “I’ll Follow You Into the Dark” by Death Cab for Cutie. However, the best was yet to come.
When the audition had ended, coach Adam Levine realized that Dave was actually one half of a sensational YouTube duo.
Upon hearing his voice, Adam almost immediately pressed his red button. He tried to maintain a poker face so that he wouldn’t influence the other coaches, but he accidentally slipped out a “wow” in pure admiration of Dave’s talent. It didn’t take long before Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus turned around their seats as well. Newcomer Jennifer Hudson didn’t press the red button, as she laughingly said that the other coaches tricked her not to.
The 30-year-old singer who resides in Seattle, Washington, was astonished when he heard the positive reactions from the judges and the crowd. Adam, Miley, and Blake turned around, and it was decision time for Dave to choose a coach. Before he did that, Dave told them about his love for music and that he and his daughter made a couple of viral videos together.
When Adam heard about this, the lead singer of Maroon 5 was extremely excited to have him on the show. Dave Crosby has been a popular attraction on YouTube together with his adorable five-year-old daughter Claire. The two regularly cover songs on their YouTube channel, which gather millions of views. Dave and Claire have appeared on the shows Little Big Shots and The Ellen Show before and their performances are as brilliant as they are adorable.
Their most popular song performed together is “You’ve got a Friend in Me” by Randy Newman, with no less than 17 million views on YouTube. When Adam asked if his daughter could come to the stage, Claire absolutely went nuts in sheer excitement.
The adorable five-year-old gave her dad a big hug before they started singing.
She sings beautifully while Dave plays the guitar.
“I’m obsessed with her,” Miley said. “You are so good!”
“Now that we’ve just melted the hearts of everyone in this country… Man, I’ll you this. Like, when I had my baby girl, that was one of the most amazing moments of my life. And someone sent me that video, and I lost it. I’m so happy you realized that you should have never given up on this because if you had given up on this, like that would have never happened, you know?
What a beautiful thing. I can’t believe that it’s you, the dude from that video sitting in front of me right now. I’m blown away,” Adam Levine added.
It was a difficult choice, but after some consideration, Dave chose Adam as his coach. One thing is for sure: we definitely haven’t seen the last of Dave Crosby and his immensely cute daughter Claire!
