The British reality show took off all her makeup and accentuated her underlying natural beauty. According to an article published by AWM, popular British reality show Snog, Marry, Avoid? transformed the appearance of a village punk to make her realize her hidden natural beauty.

The 28-year-old woman named Mel was known for wearing heavy make-up, sporting several body piercings, tattoos a flashy haircut in electric pink and leather apparel.

Her friend Jordan admitted that the number of facial piercings Mel had was worrisome. The carefree punk, who appeared intimidating to many, was particularly attached to her leather jacket.

She admitted that she loved the jacket, however, her parents complained that she would refuse to take it off and had not been washed for a long time, which made it smell bad.

The article by AWM compares Mel’s attitude to that of a lot of women whose stories are shared on the show What Not To Wear. In the TLC series, many similar women are seen wearing heavy makeup, flashy accessories, strange hairdos and body art.

Mel is asked to take off her jacket and her leather boots. And after initial hesitation, she also took off all her facial piercings. When asked how she felt after getting rid of her accessories, she expressed that she felt naked.

A few seconds later, they revealed Mel’s new look. She wore a bright red dress with intricate lace design, which featured a deep plunging v-neckline. The dress accentuated her figure and flaunted her legs that previously hid under her punk-styled outfit.

Mel bid adieu to the pink mohawk and was given a wig of wavy, blond hair. Her makeup was negligible, revealing her original skin tone and facial features.

When Mel looked into the mirror, she could not believe that the new avatar was indeed her. She exclaimed that she had never seen herself look that way, and the whole makeover made her feel more like a lady.
