Man Hangs Signs To Get Shelter Cats Adopted, But Each Ad Features Bizarre Descriptions

bez-imeni-1

Every year, an estimated 3.4 million cats enter the shelter system in the United States.

Of that large number, only 37 percent are adopted and less than 5 percent are returned to their owners; the rest are sadly euthanized, according to the ASPCA.

While many of the animals that enter shelters are strays found outside, a significant portion are also animals being surrendered by their owners.

It is sad to think of how many poor animals are sitting in cages, alone and potentially scared. However, there are many people dedicating either their free time or entire careers toward rescuing shelter cats and other animals.

One man decided that his way of helping a group of shelter cats at the Sante D’Or Adoption Center in Los Angeles wast to make everyone laugh. He created some not-so-typical ads for each shelter cat, as you can see below!

Facebook and Tumblr user Obvious Plant has an ongoing project to “sneak funny signs into the real world.” As a way to do that while helping those in need, he created funny little biographies for some shelter cats at the Sante D’Or Adoption Center. 2

Each cat is given a set of likes and dislikes. Their likes are pretty on par with what you’d assume most cats would enjoy. However, their dislikes are unusual and hilarious! 3

Sylvia isn’t a huge fan of jazz musicians using the term “cats” for slang! 4

Obvious Plant shared the awesome adoption biographies on Facebook and the post was shared over 7,000 times in less than five days! 5

Sante D’Or Adoption Center was happy for the shoutout and commented on the Facebook post, but they wanted to make it clear that one of their cats in fact does like improv comedy, though his ad suggested he did not! 6

All of these adorable cats are real and in need of a home. Hopefully this attention has helped speed up their adoption process so they can be off to their forever homes. 7

Please Liked Video these shelter cats and their biographies with all of your fellow cat lovers!
