There is a saying that, “People come into your life for a reason, season or a lifetime.” Well, this is a story of a young man who was destined to come into the life of a lost 2-year-old girl’s life.

Driving on the streets of Memphis was a young man by the names of Solomon Jones. As Solomon was driving along the streets of Memphis with a friend in the morning, he discovered something that was totally unexpected.
He was shocked to find a little 2-year-old girl all by herself in the cold moving down the streets unaccompanied. He could not believe what such a small girl was doing on the streets at 3 in the morning.
He wondered where her parents or guardians were and why anyone could carelessly let a little child out on her own. He said, “It really shook me up.” Jones quickly got out of his car and went to get help the poor girl. He knew he had to do the right thing – taking her back home as soon as he could.

He revealed that the poor child was crying and trembling from the cold as she walked down the streets of Memphis. She was lost and terrified and could not find her way back home. Together with his friend, they searched high and low for the home of this little girl so that they could take her back to her parents.

At that moment, her safety and well-being were his number one priority. He bravely made his way through the dark and still neighborhood while firmly carrying the 2-year-old girl in his arms.

The little girl was very scared and afraid. She could hardly talk or give Jones any information about where she lived, who her parents were or even why she was loitering on the streets all by herself. When asked where she lived, she said she did not know. Being a father, Jones said he was ready to do everything in his power to see to it that the little girl got back to her home safely.

“I am a father myself. I see something like this, I’m going to get her,” said Jones. After searching for her house in vain, Jones decided to do the next best thing – he immediately called the police.

Luckily, the police arrived on time and managed to locate the little girl’s home and they took her back home to her parents. Jones recorded and shared his unusual experience with the little girl on Facebook.
Guess what? The post went viral and it so far has over 4000 comments and over 4 million views.
He posted, “Some people don’t need kids, thank God it was me and my homeboy that found her cause it’s a lot of sick people in the world.” He further added, “I had 200 fans on Facebook. How did I know my video going to reach 4 and half million views?”

However, some people criticized him for his good act of kindness saying that he should not have called the police. These comments were uncalled for; clearly what other choice did the poor guy have, except calling the police? At the end of the day, he was a good Samaritan that helped a lost little girl get back home safely.

If he had not found the little girl and called the police, who knows what would have happened to her.

Despite the mean and critical comments on his Facebook post, Jones said he would gladly do it over again. He said, “I just want somebody to have the same heart as me if they found my daughter out like that.”

So why was this little 2-year-old girl on the streets all alone? The mother of the little girl explained to the police that she had left her child under the care of someone else; she said that someone was watching the poor child with other children the night she made her way to the cold, dark streets of Memphis.

Unfortunately, her little girl somehow got away and ended up getting lost.

Thanks to Jones who found her. This amazing story goes to show that indeed everything happens for a reason. The reason Jones decided to drive along Memphis Street was to save this little 2-year-old girl who was lost. He was definitely in the right place, at the right time and acted with integrity and kindness.

Thank you, Solomon Jones, for this generous act of kindness, the world truly needs more people like you.
