If you grant your company 32 years of hard work, you deserve praise and recognition. Freia David of Needham, Massachusetts, is definitely a nominee for the highest appreciation, as she worked at the French fry station at her local McDonald’s for more than three decades. Not everyone considers McDonald’s a serious work place, but for David it has always been a nice job with a good, honest wage.
David also has Down Syndrome, which means her employment might be a bit challenging, but nonetheless, since 1984, she’s been heading to work every day to provide fries for hungry customers. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of myths about Down Syndrome, but more and more people with this condition are engaged in educating others about it, and David is definitely one of them.
On August 29 of this year, she retired from her position, and McDonald’s organized her a warm send-off at her retirement party. The Needham community also did their fair share of thanking the woman for many years of service.
Freia David has been working at the McDonald’s since the 1980s. She lives in Needham, at the Charles River Center, the facility for people with developmental disabilities. The Center cooperates with local companies to provide employement, internships, and other opportunities to people with disabilities.
David worked at McDonald’s fry station for 32 years. Five days a week, from 11am to 2pm, she fed hungry costumers and eventually made friendships with many of them. Upon learning about her retirement, her employers decided to pay homage to such dedicated employee.
David was honored at the McDonald’s where she worked, and the public was also welcome to drop by and enjoy some free French fries.
She was also awarded a certificate in recognition of her achievements. According to McDonald’s managers, Freia’s smile and enthusiasm always helped create friendly and positive atmosphere at their restaurant.
David enjoys love and respect of all employees and customers, as her hard work let many people enjoy tasty meals for so many years. The McDonald’s of Needham will never be the same without Freia David.
And David served up some fries one last time.
After retiring, David intends to continue her programs at the Charles River Center. She also enjoys drawing and listening to oldies music.
