When Sara Heller and her partner found out she was pregnant, they were over the moon. The couple were looking forward to the birth of their first child and looked to their future with confidence. However, the fate had other plans for their baby boy.
A routine ultrasound at 24 weeks revealed some devastating news: the baby was diagnosed with cleft lip and palate which meant he would be born with a large space where his lips and nose are.
The couple promised each other to support their child as much as possible. After the baby boy was born, Sara and Chris wanted to make others more aware of his condition. The mom shared as many photos of her child as possible, but she was shocked to see some people would write hurtful things about Brady, her son. One user wrote “What’s wrong with his face?”, while others called the baby ugly.
The upset and disappointed mom went to dine out with little Brady and some girlfriends. When they were about to finish their meal, something incredible happened. A waiter came over to their table and handed Sara a note from a stranger. It read, “For the beautiful baby.” Then, she noticed there was a $1,000 check inside the note! The woman burst into tears because she was deeply moved by this random act of kindness. With that money, she and Chris could pay for the baby‘s upcoming medical expenses
“I want it to be a story about how the generosity of a complete stranger restored our faith in humanity,” Sara said.
