Would you agree to meet up with a complete stranger with you whom you will pose in front of a photographer who is by the way also a complete stranger?
Well, it does take some broad-mindedness to do such a thing. Photographer Richard Renaldi gathered people of various backgrounds for his unusual project “Touching Strangers”. All they had to do is pose next to each other as if they were close friends, couples or related in some way.
What Richard achieved is completely amazing. At first, those strangers would stand by each other clumsily and a bit reserved. Which comes as no surprise since the photographer coupled people who would normally never get in touch with one another.
“We are probably missing so much about the people all around us.”
Yet, the conclusion his models had after every shooting was that they actually bonded during the photoshoot. In fact, that was the whole point of that project. To show how little it takes for two utter strangers to make a connection if they just give each other a chance.
”I felt like I cared for her.”
