Recently, Pit Bulls have much negative attention, with the biggest stats on bodily harm and deaths incidents. Almost every magazine or cite dedicated to pets owning, dogs in particular, rates them top high among breeds most likely to turn on and bite their owners. However, these are just numbers, and every Pit Bull owner can prove that these furry companions are nothing but loving and gentle. They’re all just big balls of happy energy to charge positive from!
Unfortunately, Pit Bulls continuing getting a bad reputation have resulted in more and more people abusing these innocent creatures. It’s hard to imagine that humans can hurt any animal that’s way weaker and dependable on them, but these cases are not rare. Good that bad people aren’t the only one inhabiting this world. Luckily, there are also amazing folks dedicated to rescuing injured animals and taking care of them.
One of such kind souls happened to come across Roxanne, an abandoned and abused Pit Bull wandering the streets with a 6-pound chain around her neck. Probably, she used to have owners but they didn’t show much concern about poor animal and left her to suffer outdoor alone. But no worries, this story has a happy ending!

Roxanne’s rescuers failed to figure out how long she’d been wearing the chain on her neck, but it had caused severe and painful swelling.
The one thing was clear for sure: the chain had been on for long enough to become partially embedded in the skin. The rescue team had to cut it off with bolt cutters. Vets had never seen so terrible cases in their medical practice.
The chain had cut into 95 percent of Roxanne’s neck, which meant surgery was the only way out for the dog to get free. Despite many fears, this brave girl survived an operation followed by quick recovery. Her spirits were lifted after getting rid of her chains which definitely boosted healing process.
It took Roxanne only a few weeks to undergo a wonderful transformation. Her neck swelling was gone, her scar was almost healed, and her misfortune was finally over.
Her smile is beyond words, because now Roxanne can finally enjoy healthy and happy life.
