A construction crew was busy at work in Canary Wharf, London. They were working along when they came along something on the construction site they were not expecting. They found a deep hole that was filled with mud and plastic, and a helpless little animal in the middle of it.
The construction workers all assumed that the animal was a little puppy that got lost and fell into the hole and stuck. But they realized they were not totally sure what it really was while it was so dirty. They called on the help of a wildlife hospital to take care of the little guy.
‘The workers didn’t waste any time, they rushed to try and locate the animal, without even knowing what they should expect to find, or whether any of them could be in danger.’ The specialists at the Essex Wildlife Hospital worked around the clock to get the little guy all cleaned up.
After a long and thorough bath and a lot of TLC, the workers were able to identify the animal properly. And it was no puppy, it was a little 4 month old fox otherwise known as a kit. They named him ‘Muddsey’ because of the circumstances under which he was found. Su Schwar runs the wildlife hospital where Muddsey was brought and said ‘It would certainly have had a pretty awful death it if hadn’t been found. It was very cold and in shock but is fine now. We felt very sorry for him because he was completely caked and was absolutely petrified.’
