Francine Christophe was only eight years old when during the WWII she was sent to a concentration camp. Every person sent to a concentration camp was allowed to bring something for himself/herself; people would usually bring some sugar, rice, or some chocolate. Francine’s mother brought a piece of chocolate for her daughter to use it when things were just about hopeless.
One day, the girl’s mother asked Francine to gave a piece of chocolate to a pregnant woman, Helen. Helen was about to deliver her baby in a concentration camp. Let’s be honest; she could have died there while giving birth. Everyone knew that, so Francine’s mother asked her daughter to share her chocolate with Helen, to help her feel better.
Francine agreed. The baby was born absolutely healthy. Then, seventy years later, Francine Christophe was taking part in a conference where she met a doctor, who just approached her and said: “I’m that baby.”
