Judie hadn’t been to the dentist for over 10 years. She was too scared to even think about what the dentist would say or how much it would cost. It began when her father required a liver transplant and couldn’t really take care of her any longer.
Her teeth got to the point where they were falling out whenever she ate. She’d been secretly sneaking off to another room to glue them back in.
Niether Judie’s fiancé nor anyone else had a clue. And when she appeared on The Doctors in 2014, it was the first time she had admitted her secret.
While her fiancé had seen her teeth before, and didn’t care one bit, he had no idea the extent to which Judie was hiding her decay.
“I can’t smile for him and feel beautiful,” she said. “It’s almost hard to cry about it now, because I’m just so used to pretending like everything is OK.”
Judie believed her teeth might be beyond repair. But with her wedding day coming up, she took a leap of faith and went on The Doctors.
Cosmetic dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman gave her a consultation and was honest with her: She was one of the hardest cases he had ever seen.
Judie would need 21 teeth extractions, dentures, and mini implants.
“The good news,” Dr. Bill added, is you’re not going to have to postpone your wedding.”
Judie, ecstatic to finally close this chapter of her life, decided to move forward with the change.
