McDonald’s has been many of our go-to place for as long as we can remember. I remember going there as a kid for lunch with my family, getting so excited to open up my happy meal, eat my mcnuggets while playing with the coolest toy.
Now, McDonald’s has stepped it up a bit and offers a self service kiosk. It’s pretty great. Not only can you avoid interacting with the people who are there but you can actually add and remove anything you want from your burger.
You honestly have full control. But for some people, the kiosk can be a bit confusing….that is if you just don’t pay attention to detail. Twitter user @Arikuyo is the perfect example of these types of people. Here’s why.
The Twitter user realized that when he tried removing pickles from his cheeseburger, he could literally removed anything and everything.
What he couldn’t understand though is why McDonald’s was still charging him after he removed everything from his burger…
@Arikuyo tweeted out “I just spent 99p for nothing from McDonald’s”. He added, “This tweet actually cost me money to make, I’m gonna be pissed off if it doesn’t blow up”.
So essentially, using the self-service machine, Ari removed the onion, pickles, cheese, burger bun and beef patty. This left him nothing on the order.
Ari also selected “no ketchup” and “no mustard” option. Once the staff received his order they must’ve been confused as to what to actually serve.
Ari even headed to the counter to pick up his order which was just an empty bag. His tweet got over 133,000 likes and 57,000 retweets since it was posted last Monday.
Here’s what’s funny about all this…the burger itself costs $1.25. The entire Tweet was a joke…One person called Ari’s joke “internet gold”.
Another person wrote, “probably also the most health thing Ari had ever ordered from the fast food giant”. Henry Cobb wrote, “Here in the USA rappers are only 50 cents.”
