Teen Raises $500,000 Singing, Then Gives Every Penny To 5-Yr-Old With Rare Cancer.

bez-imeni-1

What were you doing when you were 14 years old? You were probably hanging out with your friends, playing video games or taking trips to the mall. Your biggest concern might have been your middle school grades or whether or not your crush liked you.

But 14-year-old Abby Miller has a little bit more going on than that. Abby’s biggest concern is whether or not her friend Taylor Love– who has a rare form of cancer– will survive. She spends her time practicing her guitar and singing skills, playing to raise money for Taylor.

In 2008, Abby’s life changed when she met Taylor. At 18 months old, Taylor had been diagnosed with stage IV, high risk neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer with no known cure. She and Abby became fast friends; Taylor– who is now almost 6 years old– thinks of Taylor as the big sister she never had. Abby immediately became invested in helping Taylor win her battle with cancer.

Abby began recording videos of herself singing songs dedicated to Taylor and posting them on YouTube. She performed at 2 fundraisers for Taylor, and she even sang on the street to raise money for Taylor and for cancer research.

In 3 years, Abby has helped raised almost $500,000 for Taylor and for cancer research!

In the video below, Abby stands before her peers at a middle school assembly to sing a song written by Andy Grube specifically for Taylor. But, before Abby takes the mic, Taylor’s mom publicly thanks her for her friendship and help.

“She has shown people all around the world, and I mean all around the world, that anyone can make a difference, no matter what you do,” says Taylor’s mom. “And Abby has made a tremendous difference in Taylor’s life”
