When something of ours is stolen, we tend to think that it’s gone forever.
Whenever something of mine is taken, generally the last thought in my mind is the hope that the felon just needs to borrow it and will eventually bring it back.
But this has actually been the case in several instances of “robbery” and it happened to Pulaski County Sheriff Deputy Josh Bowden the night of the Super Bowl.
The sheriff’s bike was stolen while he was sleeping at around two in the morning — but it was then mysteriously returned with an apology note from the ambiguous “M.”
Bowden shared the note online, which details that M took the bike because she felt she was in an unsafe situation that she needed to get away from fast.
She explained her scenario, which allegedly involved “drunk boys, a dead phone and no money.”
“I am genuinely sorry and hope you can forgive me,” she continued “for returning it so late and taking it [without] your permission.”
Bowden’s response to the situation was not hateful or annoyed at all, though he surely had a bit of a fright when he woke up in the morning to stolen property.
Check out his message in the video, which he hopes that the debatable felon sees.
