Long thought to be extinct, a man has recently captured footage of an iconic flying dinosaur, the Pterosaur, hunting over Boise, Idaho.

The large bird-like reptile, which has a massive wingspan and a pelican like beak, has sparked much debate on the internet and some speculation in the scientific community.

In the clip, which has been filed under the “weird mysteries” category, you can see the massive prehistoric creature soaring through the air before going behind a tree and out of sight…

When viewers took a closer look at the strange footage, most cried “hoax!” Some claimed that the pterosaur was a “radio controlled model” that was released a few years ago. Basically, they’re saying it is a flying drone that is shaped like a dinosaur.

Another user, named xianstar, doubted that the “natural” moving creature could be controlled by humans. The user wrote in the comments of the viral video on Rumble: “It’s obviously flapping its wings, and even moves its head down. There is a photo from 1864, with some Union Civil War Soldiers standing next to a pterodactyl that they shot down. There was also a hoax photo created after, based on this original. The 1864 photo does stump professionals, because it does seem authentic. None the less, what do I know. Perhaps, you’re right, but the movement seems very natural, and i see no editing frames or lines around the animal.”

The Union Soldier sighting of the living pterosaur back in the 1800s has been a source of much skepticism and discussion.

There are two Civil War error images with Union Soldiers standing above a dead dinosaur. The first, which includes a grayish dead dinosaur, was acknowledged to be fake. The creators admitted that they staged the image by putting people in costume and placing a fabric shape at their feet. The image shows overweight Civil War soldiers, which indicates a fabrication. During the war, the low-level fighters were more likely to be malnourished and thin rather than round around the middle.15

The photo with moustache-wearing soldiers standing on top of a deceased large, black pterosaurs appeared in a “believe it or not” magazine in the mid-20th century.

The image was reportedly taken in Vicksburg, Mississippi back in 1864. It has many qualities of an authentic image. The overexposure is accurate for the time period, the men’s faces are in focus, which was common during Civil War era photography.

According to conspiracy theory website, LivePterosaur.com: “A skeptic might dismiss [the Civil War photo] because the wings are too pointed to be the wings of a Pteranodon. Well, the wings of that type of pterosaur were indeed quite pointed, even if not as much, perhaps, as what is shown in this photo…

“Regardless of when this photograph was taken, it was done with six men who look like Civil War soldiers, in uniforms and with rifles to match. If these men are imitating a Civil War scene, after 1865, they are making a convincing imitation.”

Do you think this video shows a dinosaur or something more mundane?
