Elva ‘Lala’ Torres loves her family very much but as a soldier in the US Army, she never gets to see them as much as she’d like.
According to her, her parents were always there for her all her life and were a source of constant support whenever she needed it. Having to leave home was certainly very tough on her.
Even though her parents, Raoul and Marta Torres, were more than 2,000 miles away from her, they still always made sure she knew they cared and that they were there for her.
Lala said:
“I am halfway across the country from my parents, but it doesn’t feel that way. Getting care packages from them motivated me to keep going during those moments when I was ready to give up on myself.”
Lala felt the need to show her parents how much they meant to her. She decided to send a reverse care package.
In the package, Lala included some mementoes and a few goodies. She also wrote some heartfelt letters to both her parents where she shared everything she had always wanted to say to them.
When the proud parents received their package and looked inside, they just could not hold back tears. But watch their reaction when they received the biggest surprise Lala had for them.
