Customers must’ve been doing some serious double-takes when they saw a little boy and a young cow getting acquainted during a recent outing to a pet store in Massachusetts.
That’s what it looks like at first glance, anyway. The truth of the matter, though, is that this adorable little toddler was just striking up a friendship with Kernel, a harlequin great Dane. The kinship was perhaps cemented by the fact that they’re both just one year old.
But wow, look at the size difference!
Kernel and the little boy take a moment to check each other out — of course, the toddler is all about the massive dog’s size and his splotchy fur, giggling as he gets acquainted.
Kernel, however, is more focused on how the little boy smells… maybe he has some food leftover in his hair from a previous meal?
“Sniff … friend? Food? Friend? Friend,” one viewer joked.
It makes sense that the giant pooch is so gentle, though. After all, his owner did help him get certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen. Kernel is on track to become a service dog at some point!
That doesn’t stop him from being an adorable goofball, though, as evidenced by his Instagram account.
Watch this super-cute first meeting in the clip below, and share with another dog lover today! We hope these two see each other again very soon.
