Kim Bellus and her young son live approximately two miles away from his elementary school in Nebraska. Due to state laws, school buses do not collect students who live withing four miles of the school.

This unusual rule has created a big problem for Kim in her daily routine. Currently the stay at home mom and full time student does not have income to affor a car. Kim has been forced to walk her son to school and back every day. The long arduous trek takes roughly 10 hours or more to complete on a weekly basis.

Kim is extremely worried about the forthcoming winter months when temperatures will drop and conditions will become very treacherous.

When a local newspaper caught wind of Kim’s heartbreaking story in August 2015. Their subsequent story on the mother and son’s daily hardship brought some very kind unexpected strangers into their lives.

A few days after the story was aired, the pair set out on their normal trek to school. But this day was going to be anything but normal for Kim and Gabe.

As Kim and her son walked along the sidewalk, a woman named Becky, was driving by and spotted them, she immediately knew she had seen them before. Becky quickly turned her car around and pulled up next them with a very heartwarming offer…
