You’ve got to admire this little girl’s bedside manner. She keeps her composure every step of the way, though there’s just a hint of rose on her cheeks to suggest she’s straining a bit here.
Meanwhile, we’re losing our minds watching her deliver a baby lamb.
How did we get here again? Well, when a sheep living on a farm in Monmouthshire, U.K., needed a hand (or two) giving birth, a 3-year-old girl named Lilly Nicholas stepped in.
“What can you feel? Can you feel anything?” her mom, Rachel Nicholas, asks in a YouTube video.
“I’ve got the lamb’s feet,” Lilly replies.
“Pull the feet a bit and see if you can feel the lamb’s nose,” Coach Mom urges.
The smile dips a little — Lilly’s really toiling here.
“It’s slippery,” she says, elbows deep.
Even Mom flashes a hint of fraying nerves when she brays, “Can you manage or do you want me to… Do you want me to have a go?”
Lilly digs in. A moment later, she’s got her hands on the tiniest pair of hooves. And then…
“I got it!” Lilly declares. It’s a healthy baby girl!
After a moment this incredible, all we can think to say is “congratulations, Lilly!” — and of course, welcome to the world, baby lamb.
We’ve all seen surprise deliveries, like the time all the staff at a restaurant pitched in to help a woman birth her baby. There was also the time a woman was shocked to find that she had given birth while sitting on the toilet.
However, this little miracle is a testament to tiny hands — and a giant heart.
