The 7-year-old elephant, named, Faa Mai, is part of a herd at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. He has a very strong bond with one of the staff members, Lek.
Lek, treats her gentle giant with love and compassion, she even sings him to sleep. Her calming lullaby works magic for Faa Mai, who slowly falls to the ground and into a deep sleep under the soothing sound.
Lek says her singing makes Faa Mi feel safe and comfortable. She says they communicate though love. First, they hug, then, Faa Mai slowly lays on the ground to take his nap. His ears flap to the music and his trunk curls in. Finally, he shuts his eyes.
