On June 11, 2017, Brandon Rogers passed away in a car accident at the age of 29.
Just weeks before his tragic and untimely death, Brandon auditioned for America’s Got Talent. The episode was scheduled to air on TV, but after the heartbreaking news, it was unclear as to whether or not it would still air.
At the request of Brandon’s family, the show honored his memory by sharing the audition with the world.
When he was 6 years old, Brandon came home and found his mother lying in a pool of blood. After rushing with her to the hospital, Brandon saw the doctors become heroes that day. They saved her life, and it inspired him to become a doctor himself.
He loved making a difference, and coped with the stresses of the job by singing.
“If I could find a way to combine being a doctor and medicine with music and singing, that would be a dream come true,” he told producers.
In the emotional clip below, Simon says Brandon is not only the first doctor to ever audition for the show, but that he finds his voice to be absolutely stunning.
