When the stage lights brighten, the audience and judges at the Australian drill and dance team championships are quite interested in the sight before them. All they can see is a rectangular shape of gleaming white feathered fans. Presumably, there are dancers hiding behind them waiting to compete in the prop precision category. As soon as the burlesque-type music begins, a dancer in the middle of this formation pops through and the impressive routine begins.
Once this dynamic routine really kicks off, the audience and judges are enraptured. The girls are sporting short white-blonde bobbed wigs along with sequined flapper-era style dresses that beautifully reflect the stage lighting. They perform a fun and funky burlesque routine using the sultry white feathered fans as their prop. At one point, they even look like gorgeous albino peacocks flapping their feathers all about behind their backs. These props are cleverly integrated into the choreography to present to everyone a first place-worthy routine.
With some incredible moves, a few shimmies and timed hip wiggles, these girls rock this performance. At the 1:20 mark in the video below, they launch an unexpected contagion that’s really impressive. This routine has captured everyone’s attention in the crowd, including that of the judges critiquing the routine for the competition. As soon as they finish, the crowd erupts into wild applause, screams and cheering. Check out these sparkly and talented dancers’ spectacular performance in the video below. The feather props really took the performance to a whole new level!
