Young Man Shares Photo Of Transformation After Visiting Barber Shop, Looks Unrecognizable

Two centuries ago, having a lot of hair on a man’s face was the ultimate sign of masculinity. When coupled with age, such a man often seemed rather sagely and experienced – almost like the images of Biblical patriarchs put to full use by newspaper cartoonists.

Photos of nineteenth-century thinkers and figures of influence like German Chancellor, Otto Von Bismarck with his hairy upper lip or the father of communism, Karl Marx and his scraggly visage served to reinforce this stereotype a notch further.

Then around 1900, razor blade manufacturers happened! Suddenly, sporting a stubble became glamorous. Added to that, Hollywood stars began to sport bald heads and less extravagant mustaches in sponsored advertisements around the 1940s. Being cleanly shaven actually started to connote superior hygiene.
Thus for most men around the world, getting a haircut usually isn’t a big deal. It is even less so for those who do get one weekly or bi-weekly – probably because their hair grows fast or as professional duties might demand. This is especially true for occupations like acting, accounting, legal service providers and other white collar jobs where stereotypical image counts for a great deal.

Getting a haircut remains pretty mundane till one is making a major change to one’s appearance; say from having dreadlocks to a bald look and vice versa, a Mohican – or as the North Americans call it, a Mohawk, a rounded beard to a pointed goatee and the list goes on.

A man who made such a fundamental move says,

“I remember when I cut my hair short: It had been so long, and I looked totally different after I made the switch!”

Ladies normally have to contend with changing only the styling to the hair on their scalps. For men, however, the story is a little bit different. The hair growing on their faces can totally conceal what they really look like. Oftentimes, they look like completely different people with or without one. Even criminals have mastered this fact and made use of it to the chagrin of many a law enforcement officer.
One hirsute man on Reddit took the bold decision and decided to make the chop. He wanted to trim not only his beard but also his long and shaggy blond hair – which by then fell way past his shoulders. A most quintessential look, so to say (or write for that matter)!

4

And trim he did…actually, sheared he got! His barber had him shaved so smoothly that any newly sheared New Zealand sheep would not hesitate to bleat in envy.

The change to his face was so drastic that the man could not help calling his barber a hero for revealing his long hidden face. And the biggest surprise? We can now see his handsome face even more clearly!

As a picture have been famed to tell more than a thousand words, scroll down to see the man’s new and much-improved look.

Please don’t forget to tell us what you make of it in the comments section below.

In the photo that bears his look before “shaving”, you can see his shaggy blonde hair come trailing down past his sturdy shoulders and his bushy beard concealing some of his face – his mouth is barely there!

With his new haircut, the man’s now quite a sight to behold! Hunky and handsome isn’t he?
Of course, you could try an experiment like this on yourself.

We suggest that you, too, grow out your hair for a number of months, say six months and you’ll see how different you look. Include the moustache, sideburns, and goatee and all…of course this applies only to the agents, to the ladies – please do not try this at home!. We would, however, like to warn you that maintaining a lot of hair does not come cheap, a lot of time and money goes into it – and it might prove cumbersome to manage! But life is too short not to try out different hairstyles – If you feel like having the big chop too, do not be afraid to go for it.
