Halitosis is a huge fear for some people (at least for me) because it’s a fancy, scientific word for ‘bad breath.’ Whether it’s for the benefit of yourself or others, no one wants to smell morning breath all day. That’s why brushing one’s teeth (on top of getting rid of cavities and all that remaining food) is a staple in most people’s morning and night routines. But there’s some other ways that toothpaste can be extremely helpful.
Please note that from now on, toothpaste refers to the white, thick toothpaste and not the other colorful gels!
Here are 6 life hacks for toothpaste that you may not have known about before!
For those of you that still use enjoy the use of matches (who doesn’t? They’re so much fun!) there’s a quick and easy way to ensure that your matchstick doesn’t flicker out.
By swabbing it in toothpaste and then letting it sit in water, this method can help prevent any quick burn outs.
Apply a generous amount of toothpaste to the tip of the matchstick and drop it into a cup of water.
Let it sit in the glass of water for a couple of minutes until it fully hardens and then extract it from the liquid. A good sign to know if it’s ready is if it floats or not. Now take a paper towel and remove as much of the toothpaste as you can.
Once you see that it’s nice and dense, you can pull it out and set it afire! It shouldn’t burn out and now you don’t have to worry about burning your fingers!
Sick and tired of all those fingerprints on your phone screen? Worst of all, those tiny scratches and nicks that you can’t seem to get off?
What about that partially mutated buffalo sauce that you left on there while you were thumbing away on your phone during a night of chicken wings and pizza?
Well with a combination of a small microfiber cloth and some toothpaste, you can fix all of that!
Just apply a small dab on the screen with a little bit of water and use the microfiber cloth to wipe off any fingerprints, dirt, dust and maybe even some tiny scratches!
If you have an envelope that you want to close and you don’t want to lick the glue that’s already provided, you can always use toothpaste!
Apply a small dab on your fingertip and place it on the fold of the envelope. Now all you have to do is fold it over and seal it shut. But remember to put in a letter first!
For those that enjoy eating onions, cutting them is part of the game. But the lingering smell on your fingers is no fun. (For you and those around you!)
A quick, cheap and easy way to rid the smell would be to put some toothpaste on your fingertips and use it as soap. Rub and rinse the toothpaste and smell be gone!
This one is kind of similar to the phone screen but for those giant TV screens which just happens to accumulate dust, you can use the same method.
Apply some toothpaste to each corner of the television along with a generous dab on the middle and then just spritz it with some water. Using the same, albeit bigger, cloth just wipe down the screen and apply that toothpaste to all corners!
If you ever get a small cut (say a paper cut) and don’t have any alcohol wipes, or bandages lying around, toothpaste can be a quick and efficient way to stop the bleeding!
