A heavy collision of a semi-truck and a bus with 50 prisoners, which took place in Arizona, had an unexpected development.
The bus driver was badly injured, and a corrections officer, who accompanied the prisoners, turned out to be the only one to keep an eye on them.
Many of you would think that it was a great chance for the inmates to escape, but, surprisingly, they didn’t think so. Instead, they tried to assist the victims, taking some of the injured out of the damaged vehicle, and called for help.
As a result of the accident, 20 inmates got serious injuries and 30 of them were taken back to Lewis State Prison.
This was a very challenging situation when the inmates had a unique chance to choose between inviting freedom and humane attitude towards those who needed them at that moment.
