Rebecca McGregor was fed up. The photographer and model from Aberdeen, Scotland, would receive about three unsolicited images from strange men every day.
Often, the photos would be of their nude bodies. The 21-year-old believes that because she is a model, men think this behavior is OK. However, Rebecca finds it to be extremely disrespectful.
“I find the men sending these images really disrespectful, and it makes me uncomfortable. I receive them at least three times a day unsolicited and mostly, they will just send them and not even try to say hi,” she said. “Some might try and make conversation, but generally they just send them out of the blue, and they appear in my inbox.”
After receiving one X-rated photo of a man’s genitals, she decided to get revenge. She found the creep’s mother on social media and sent her his nude photo.
“Hey doll, I see you’re listed as [name removed]‘s mother? I think you need to have a chat with your son on how to approach women — see attached xx,” Rebecca wrote to her in a text.
Rebecca believes men ought to treat women better than this. She has even notified the police, but believes they ultimately have better things to do.
“I’m not really like most of the girls these days that find it amusing or laugh at it. I’m more old-fashioned. I believed that people should have to work before they get to see that kind of thing,” she said.
Rebecca blocks users right away when they send her these photos. She even noticed that many of these men are married or have girlfriends.
“I hope [the sender’s mom] would understand why I did what I did and would explain that he shouldn’t just send images like that,” she said.
