As far as we can remember, all we wanted as teenagers was to live life on our own terms and not give two hoots about expectations and the burning reality of the world. And when someone even attempted to interrupt our joyride, it left us with a volcano bursting with emotions — not the pleasant, positive kind.
Like Kelsey Johnson from Ohio who ended up crying a bucket full of tears, barely a few days after her birthday.
The reason for Keysey’s tears and evident discomfiture? Her father and stepmother, very ruthlessly cut her mane to a short pixie. The 13-year-old’s had treated herself to some gorgeous highlights, which it seemed, wasn’t up to her father’s likeness.
Like any parent, Christin Johnson, who is an employee at Copper Tire, Findlay, Ohio wanted to gift her daughter Kelsey something special for her 13th birthday. When the teenager asked for blonde highlights, Christin was more than happy to gift her what she desired.
However, the blonde highlights did not go down too well with her father and step-mother as they mercilessly razed Kelsey’s long locks as a punishment. They told Kelsey, “Actions have consequences,” Christin claimed.
This is what my daughter looked like Sunday when I took her home and the other two pics is what happened today before she was brought to me… all over me having highlights put in her hair for her birthday!

Christin took to Facebook on January 31 and posted the before and after photos of her girl’s drastic hair-cut; the latter who visibly looked distressed and embarrassed to even reveal her face.
“This is what my daughter looked like Sunday when I took her home and the other two pics is what happened today before she was brought to me…all over me having highlights put in her hair for her birthday!” Christin wrote.
Kelsey’s ordeal managed to anger thousands of social media users who did not make an attempt to disguise their anger for the father in question. Within a few days after it’s publication, Christin’s Facebook post raked in more than 34,000 reactions and was shared over 24,000 times.
Rashun Sanders Good you left his ugly ass and his ugly ass wife I hope someone fucks up her head
“Please remember that you are NOT the sum of an assault that happened to you,” one person wrote in support of Kelsey.
Triza Schultz Abuse. Pure and simple. To humiliate and fiercely control. How sad. May this beautiful young woman be protected and find the safe refuge she needs to be able to thrive, be a normal teenager, and more…just simply be loved completely away from people who want to hurt her and her mother, evidently. Please keep her safe. If they can do that, they can do more damage, and will if given the opportunity…. She is such a beautiful young woman! Love and peace to you both
“Wow the father has some serious control issues,” another user commented.
Jacqueline Mendoza Ramos Taking him to court so he loses all his parental rights and taking your daughter as far from his bitch ass as possible would be a gift to ur daughter. Mental emotional and physical abuse by the man that supposed to protect u, he don’t deserve to even be called a father. I pray his days are numbered. POS
Several Facebook users were also of the opinion that the father’s vicious action is tantamount to child abuse.
Maitland Elise MENTAL ABUSE!!!
According to a Fox 8 News report, Haskins Police Chief Colby Carroll along with Wood County Children’s Services to investigate the case as a potential instance of child abuse.
“I’ve been doing this since ‘92 and I’ve never had a case that I would say that’s like this,” Carroll was quoted as saying by The Independent.
I'd like to thank the ladies at Lady Jane's on Glendale in Toledo, OH for making my baby feel more like herself!…

Later, on February 3, Christin took Kelsey to a local salon in Toledo, Ohio, where the staff fitted Kelsey with a wig of her choice to wear while her hair grows out.
The father and stepmother, both of whom were employed as firefighters, have allegedly been suspended from work.
